Fannie Mae to suspend foreclosures until January


In order to support the streamlined modification program announced on Nov. 11, 2008, Fannie Mae (NYSE:FNM) today issued a notice to its loan servicing organizations and retained foreclosure attorneys directing them to suspend foreclosure sales on occupied single-family properties as well as the completion of evictions from occupied single-family properties scheduled to occur from Nov. 26, 2008, until Jan. 9, 2009.

OUR VIEW: What did 'no' vote on school levy mean?


Litchfield School District voters soundly rejected any school-related increase in their taxes Nov. 4.

It might be tempting to blame the 56-percent ‘no’ vote on the economy. As popular wisdom goes, nobody wants an increase in their taxes, and they want it even less so when the economy is in the dire straits it is today.

A day in my life...


I am going to try to do a little more blogging, and I hope you don't mind my ramblings. It is another Friday and of course I have plenty to do. As far as work goes, it is tearsheet day for me. That is when we go through the Sunday editions and tear out advertisements for customers who would like to see them before the public gets their copies, some hang them up in their stores or use them for other reasons. This time of year is also busy because we have several special editions/sections that we are preparing for.
