Chaska football team has tough time at EP - photo slideshow

Losing three fumbles in the first 14 plays makes it tough for any football team.
When your team does that against Eden Prairie, it makes for a very long night.
EP turned the miscues into 10 points in taking a 31-0 halftime lead. The Eagles added a pair of second-half touchdowns to win 45-0.

DFL delegate reflects on 'surreal' experience

By Forrest Adams
Chanhassen’s Jake Breedlove, 19, is fired up for Democrat Presidential nominee Barack Obama, and not even a hurt leg and crutches could stop him from taking part in the Democratic National Convention activities last week in Denver.
He described the convention and voting in it to nominate an African-American to be President of the United States for the first time as an “emotional,” “historic” and “surreal experience.”

Convention highlights decades of political activism for delegate

After more than 40 years of Republican Party politicking, K.J. McDonald is finally at his first national convention.
He has been to plenty of state conventions, but this is the first time he has been able to afford the national one, he said. He drives into St. Paul every morning from his home in Watertown.
“It’s probably the culmination of my political activity,” said the former state representative.
“It’s a real honor and a privilege to be here,” McDonald said before Tuesday night’s session convened in the Xcel Energy Center at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
