A University of St. Thomas survey predicts a bleak holiday season for Twin Cities retailers. The Mall of America appears to be weathering the lousy economy better than other shopping malls in the region, Finance and Commerce reports. Meanwhile, Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak is stumping for the city's free downtown parking on weekends. Target's activist shareholder William Ackman unveiled a revised real-estate proposal Wednesday, and the Minneapolis retailer is recalling a set of children's dive sticks it imported from China and sold over the summer.
