Review: Finnish plays translate into something funnier than the originals


Director Brian Matuszak's specialty is slapstick, but the three one-act comedies, translated from Finnish, presented Thursday at the Proctor Area Community Center, don't afford many opportunities for pratfalls and spit takes. Making do with what he's got to work with, Matuszak stages them with a degree of physicality that would have, in their original productions, had the performers hospitalized for hysteria or demonic possession.
